THE BALTIC SEA EXPEDITION

2015 – In the summer of 2014 – an international research expedition sailed in the Baltic Sea. The expedition took samples of micro plastics in the ocean with the aim to analyze how big the problem is. Some of the world’s most knowledgeable scientist within their field where on board. For the first time state of the art tools and techniques where used to measure micro plastics in the Baltic sea.

SHIPPING POLLUTION

2015 –The Baltic Sea contains one of the highest concentrations of shipping in the world.
At the same time, the Baltic Sea is one of the most sensitive landlocked seas in the world.
And shipping has impaired the environment and citizens to an extent that most people are unaware of.

TEN YEARS LATER

2014 –In the Aceh Province, the 2004 Tsunami left 170,000 people dead and some 400,000 homeless. In 2005, the internationally awarded documentary The Tsunami Generation profiled remnants of families struggling to get life back to normal.

Now, 10 years later, filmmaker Folke Rydén returns to meet the same survivors.

SURVIVORS

2016 – If you suddenly lose every single member of your family – how do you manage to live on? We meet four individuals who share an unthinkable tragic experience: losing their loved ones in the 2004 tsunami. But they differ in their ways of coping with loss and grief.

THE TOXIC COMPROMISE

2013 – Alfred was only 12 weeks old when toxic substances were found in his blood. He had even higher levels of certain pollutants than his mother Cecilia.

This film investigates the legislative process behind REACH, the EU regulation that was supposed to protect citizens like Alfred. It turns out that Sweden’s current Minister for the Environment played a debated role when the legislation was passed in the European Parliament.

2013 – In ”Science for Life 2” we learn about the importance of humanities and social science. How it contributes to the society and helps us in everyday life.

THE SECOND WAVE

2013 – The film investigates toxic chemicals found in and around the Baltic Sea, in wildlife and in human bodies. It shares the insights of various experts on the consequence for the world surrounding us and our unborn children.

PHARMACEUTICALS IN THE BALTIC SEA

2013 – A short film about the Baltic Sea and pharmaceuticals, drugs that modern sewage treatment plants can’t stop. Sweden’s top environmental scientist analyze samples
from the Baltic Sea salmon.

And the findings are astonishing.
